Senior Oracle Database Administrator

The Purpose of Your Role

As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you would be designing and maintaining database architecture within a multi-location database environment to ensure our systems are stable, performing well, replicated, and backed up.

Initial training will be conducted onsite and will transition to hybrid work. For this reason, candidates should be local to the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area.

As a Senior Oracle DBA, you would serve as the technical subject matter expert on database architecture and would ensure that architectural reviews are conducted. You would be instrumental in researching, recommending, and implementing new technologies. In addition, you would collaborate with all departments to provide custom queries and reports needed to monitor operations and make business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, implement, maintain, and document database systems. Mentor IT staff in architecture, technologies, and methodologies.
• Proactively monitor performance of databases, backup and validate backups of databases, and install, patch, and upgrade databases as appropriate.
• Recommend, design, develop, and implement business continuity solutions for the enterprise given the network resources either available or required.
• Code complex SQL queries on customer data to provide management teams with reports needed to make critical business decisions.
• Act as key technical point of contact for all database architecture decisions within a given project and ensure that appropriate levels of architecture reviews are conducted.

What Experience and Skills You Need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, system design, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with tools such as SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, SQL*Loader, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

• Oracle Application Express
• Scripting languages such as bash, ksh, and csh
