Senior Platform/Fullstack Engineer - Backstage

As part of the Backstage team, you’ll shape the developer experience for companies big and small, for our thriving open-source community, and for Spotify itself. You’ll have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developer tooling, driving innovation that touches millions.

What You'll Do

• Build and operate infrastructure on GCP and AWS, focusing on network connectivity, security, and observability.
• Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform, ensuring consistency and reliability.
• Collaborate with security teams to deliver on compliance, ensuring platform security and trustworthiness.
• Promote and implement SRE methodologies, enabling smooth deployments, monitoring and short feedback loops to resolve incidents.
• Take operational responsibility for services, participating in an on-call rotation to ensure uptime.
• Work closely with multi-functional teams: product, design, sales, marketing, and customer success.
• Shape technical strategy and deliver impactful, high-visibility projects that transform the developer experience.

Who You Are

• You bring a blend of technical expertise and a passion for growth. Specifically, you have:
• Demonstrable experience with SaaS infrastructure, GCP, Distributed Systems, TypeScript, and Node (React experience is a plus!).
• A Love for Scale: You thrive in distributed systems and know how to design pragmatic solutions.
• Engineering Passion: Sound practices like continuous delivery and automated testing are second nature.

Where You'll Be

• For this role, you can be within the EST time zone with a preference to be in New York.
• Working hours? We operate within the EST zone for collaboration.

The United States base range for this position is $156 275-223 350, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
