Senior Product Designer - Design System (all genders)

As a Senior Product Designer for Design Systems at Urban Sports Club, you will play a critical role in defining and maintaining the design language and components that form the foundation of our web and native applications.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency in our design processes, ultimately contributing to the success and growth of our business. Your expertise in design systems will drive innovation, streamline workflows, and elevate the user experience across all our products.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evolution of Urban Sports Club’s design system, including creating and maintaining UI components, patterns, and guidelines, aligning them with overarching business objectives.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders at Urban Sports Club to understand user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Design and prototype reusable components and layouts that promote consistency and usability across Urban Sports Club’s product ecosystem.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback at Urban Sports Club to iteratively improve the design system and ensure it meets the needs of various user groups.
• Document design decisions, best practices, and guidelines at Urban Sports Club to empower other designers and developers to leverage the design system effectively.
• Advocate for the adoption of the design system across Urban Sports Club, providing guidance and support to teams integrating it into their workflows.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to design systems at Urban Sports Club, and incorporate relevant insights into our processes.
• Mentor junior designers at Urban Sports Club and contribute to the overall growth and development of the design team.

What You Need to Succeed

• You have 5+ years of experience in product design, specializing in design systems or visual/UI design for applications, with preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design or a related field preferred. 
• You are proficient in Figma and FigJam.
• You have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles with an ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• You have extensive experience in usability testing, and an excellent grasp of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
• You are an effective communicator with robust collaboration skills, adept at working in agile environments, and fluent in English.
