Eaton's Marketing Commercial Operations Division currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Arden, NC with a hybrid model of work from home and the Eaton office. Relocation is available to candidates residing 50 miles outside of location.

Position Overview:

The Senior Project Engineer will support Large and Major project orders (defined primarily as those having an order value over $100k). The primary function of a Senior Project Engineer is to serve as the technical liaison between the product lines, field sales and the customer during the execution of Large and Major complex project orders. This position has technical ownership of the order and creates a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. This position leverages centralized resources to manage documentation and resolve issues and builds relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to deliver a successful project. This position works independently on daily tasks, taking direction from Sales Engineers, Project Managers, and the Project Management Organization (PMO) Management Team.

In this function you will:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers in assigned territory.
  • Interpret customer plans and specifications to provide accurate information on project orders.
  • Develop and execute proactive order entry strategies that will facilitate order fulfillment and technical support as well as minimize order delay.
  • Serve as the customer's advocate by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to peer contacts in the operations and escalating issues as required to management.
  • Use Bid Manager for product configuration, changes and pricing.
  • Provide technical support and follow through on warranty issues.
  • Coordination and interpretation of Plant Drawings
  • Work closely with the Project Management Team including Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation Team.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in sales, sales support, or technical role.
  • Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring company sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field
  • Proficient in tools and applications required for job function (Bid Manager, Adobe Acrobat, CQM, Vista, Microsoft O365).
  • Electrical industry expertise and product knowledge
