Senior Ruby Backend Engineer

Finiata is on a mission to support small businesses to master their liquidity with ease and we are looking for a Senior Ruby Backend Engineer to join our small, ambitious and dedicated Engineering team with the freedom to work remotely.

Note: This position is fully remote as long as you are legally based in Romania, Italy, Portugal, Germany and Poland. You may be required to travel for business purposes (e.g.: participation in team building activities, professional workshops) up to 10% of the time.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing systems and architecture
• Developing new features and writing their implementation
• Reviewing, analyzing and fixing bottlenecks and bugs
• Improving our processes through agile development practices
• Maintaining and improving our deployment infrastructure and pipeline
• Learning through pair programming, collaboration and code review

• 5+ years of strong Ruby on Rails expertise
• Proven architectural design experience
• Experience with Web application development and object-oriented programming
• Expertise in design and consumption of APIs
• Relational database knowledge (like PostgreSQL)
• Solid understanding of IT security concepts
• Excited about working with other engineers and product experts in a highly collaborative, cross-functional Scrum team environment, practicing DDD
• Motivated, well organised, proactive, eager to learn and self-improve
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Python
• AWS deployment expertise
• Redis/Memcached
• Serverless (AWS Lambda)
• Familiarity with microservice/macroservice architecture
• Previous agile development experience
• Fintech background
• Kafka
