Senior Traffic Engineer

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in Tampa, Florida. Be part of a civil transportation engineering team working on challenging new traffic simulation projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform and/or oversee work, including traffic signal design, and signing and pavement marking design for projects throughout Florida
• Interact with clients for on-going projects and project pursuits
• Participate in marketing for project pursuits, including written and oral proposals
• Collaborate with AECOM staff and mentor traffic engineering staff

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months
• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic signal warrants, traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system analysis, and design; and traffic signing and pavement marking analysis and design

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification
• 8+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in the design of ITS system construction plans for ITS device placement and communications on Florida arterial, interstate, and limited access corridors
• Experience in roadway lighting design
• Experience in FDOT design-bid-build projects and design-build projects
• The right balance of leadership, technical skills, and experience serving internal and external clients
• Proficient in: MicroStation, Synchro, SimTraffic, Microsoft Office, GuideSign
