Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As a Software Developer you will participate in the technical design, development, and implementation of APIs. You will partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, analyze business, technical and system needs and develop a code within chosen technology solutions that would resolve business needs and satisfy the business requirements. This is a junior to mid-level Software Developer role.

What will you do?

• Develops, codes, documents programs of simple to average complexity using different languages, writes unit test plans and executes unit testing for programs of simple to average complexity using different tools, prepares distribution lists and OM documentation, and completes technical documentation and training material.

• Coordinates, with supervisor guidance, design phases for small development projects, identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues, learns the use of the different techniques and tools (top-down, OO, Rational Rose) in order to design technical solutions that include component reusability, data sharing and security, recommends technology solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients, prepares detailed technical specifications in accordance with all Project Office objectives for PLC and documentation, and organizes and participates in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs and unit test plans.

• Provides estimates on activities/tasks required to perform design, coding and unit testing, improving accuracy over time and provides implementation and post-implementation support.

• Effectively communicates and builds rapport with team members, stakeholders and interface groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close, facilitates small group meetings for requirements gathering, problem solving and task implementation, and uses different tactics for resolving conflicts/issues prior to escalation.

• Continually enhances skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.

• Three or more years of experience in software development or engineering

Strong communication and facilitation skills, team player• Conflicts and issues resolution and escalation• Java17, spring boot, Get, Helios, Jenkins, Urban code, JDBC, OpenShift Container Platform 4, Apigee• IT Standards & Methodologies, Agile experience
