Software Developer (BE Java)

Introduction
We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with various technologies and programming languages.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Your main duties will include designing and implementing new features optimizing and maintaining existing code and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards through testing and debugging. You will also work closely with other developers and product managers to ensure the software meets user needs.

What you’ll do:
• Participate in software design and code reviews. These reviews which include other Software Engineers are held to ensure a high level of software quality and to share knowledge with team members.
• Build a product used at the Enterprise level worldwide
• Participate in and adhere to professional software engineering practices using such tools and methodologies as Agile Software Development Test Driven Development Continuous Integration Source Code Management (git) and GitHub. • Ensure good code coverage. Support bug fixes during testing and deploy to target environments.
• Diagnose complex issues evaluate recommend and execute the best solution
• Create/maintain technical documentation.
• Hands-on experience in handling and debugging customer issues working with the L2 support team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience in Core Java Java J2EE and microservices architecture.
• Experience in Building Restful API SDK APIs using different frameworks.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices that use the Spring Boot framework.
• Good understanding of Docker Kubernetes OpenShift Container Platform Ansible Jenkins Tekton and Linux Operating Systems (such as Red Hat Ubuntu etc.)
• You should be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Nice to have is experience with Neo4j or other Graph databases
• Nice to have experience working in a collaborative and globally distributed environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) or relevant background- Advantage
