As a Software Development Engineer at Elekta, you will play an integral role in developing and delivering high-quality software solutions that empower clinicians to focus on fighting cancer. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative, user-friendly solutions that enhance our product offerings and support interoperability in a regulated healthcare environment. This role emphasizes modernization, API-first development, and continuous improvement, helping shape the next generation of clinical workflow technology. You will also work on sustaining and evolving existing solutions while contributing to the design of future platforms. This includes applying strong analytical and engineering skills to re-engineer complex systems to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability. Your ability to innovate and adapt will be critical to supporting Elekta’s mission to improve, prolong, and save lives through technological advancements. Responsibilities - In this role, you will contribute to building and improving software solutions by supporting both existing systems and new development initiatives. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant solutions that meet the needs of clinicians and patients. Specific responsibilities include: • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle. • Implement RESTful APIs and integration points for interoperability. • Maintain and enhance existing applications to ensure reliability and performance. • Collaborate with teams to evaluate new technologies and support proof-of-concepts. • Participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices. • Document designs, requirements, and implementation details for maintainability. • Support continuous improvement of development processes and tools. • Ensure compliance with Elekta’s Quality Management System and regulatory standards. Qualifications - The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline. • 1 to 3 years of experience in software development (internships or academic projects considered). • Proficiency in C# and ASP.NET (including ASP.NET Core). • Experience developing services or components, including RESTful APIs. • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL. • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. • Excellent communication skills and comprehension of the English language. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps). • Familiarity with unit testing and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Reqnroll). • Experience improving application performance and maintainability. • Knowledge of secure coding practices.
