As a Software Engineer II, Graphics, on our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Graphics System for Kerbal Space Program 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the beloved Kerbal Space Program. This role will focus on delivering quality code, in collaboration with our art and content teams. that creates a stunning visual experience. A successful teammate in this position understands techniques to visually simulate realistic environments (water, atmosphere, clouds, terrain) on modern game system GPUs.
What You'll Take On

• Collaborate with engineers, technical artists, and product management to implement common game environment features and improvements.
• Build tools and determine requirements that allow internal customers to create in-game visuals.
• Reduce technical debt while writing code, reuse existing code or libraries, and build software that is flexible without being over-engineered.
• Helps the team evolve by working beyond assigned systems to enhance the engineering and delivery experience across the project.
• Contribute to processes and large-scale tools that improve product quality, including automated testing, metrics, build systems, release systems, and cross-platform compatibility and performance.
• Advises managers and ramps up peers on existing and in-development systems and products.
• Support recruiting and interviewing candidates to help grow the team.

What You Bring

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, or an equivalent OO Language.
• A solid understanding of and demonstrated ability to implement Shaders, GPU Compute processes, and core 2D & 3D Graphics Fundamentals for modern video games.
• Deep knowledge of GPU performance optimization for complex graphical systems, and the ability to deliver code that consistently runs at 60fps at modern resolutions.
• Well versed in design patterns with the ability to know when to apply them and seek additional feedback.
• Experience developing software for shipping one or more games on the Desktop, Xbox, or PlayStation platforms.
• Clear and concise communicator, with the ability to work closely with a diverse team of peers.
