Skills and Experience You Will Need

GalaxE.Solutions, Inc. (Somerset, NJ) seeks Software Engineer - Mainframe - Analyze business requirements and design mainframe applications, including data structures, program logic, and user interfaces. Create technical specifications and documentation. Develop scripts in mainframe scripting languages like REXX or SAS to process the control cards and initiate the data retrieval process. Transform and convert the extracted mainframe data into a format suitable for Teradata. Employ data transformation techniques, such as data mapping, cleansing, and validation, to ensure compatibility and accuracy. Write control cards and scripts that define the data extraction logic and configure them as part of the automated workflow. Deploy mainframe processes to production environments through the CI/CD pipeline. Automate the steps involved in deploying the control cards and associated scripts. Investigate and resolve issues in mainframe applications, including system failures, data inconsistencies, or performance degradation. Provide technical support to end users, troubleshooting problems, and implement fixes. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience in any occupation which includes the required experience/skills. Experience must include: 2 years of experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM and DB2 Programming; 2 years of experience in Mainframe tools which experience must include File Aid, SPUFI, CA7 and Expeditor; 2 years of experience with Endeavor or Changeman code implementation tools and experience with documentation of code changes; 2 years of experience in project implementation activities from requirements to deployment; 2 years of experience in SDLC document review and SYSI and QA defect tracking; and 1 year of experience in Unit testing, QA supports, and defect fixes. This is a hybrid position. May work from home within commuting distance to office and/or worksite location. Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
• Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
