The Software Engineer Manager is responsible for developing software engineering professionals, and handles direct management and coaching of software engineers. The manager also develops autonomous cross-functional teams, coaching as a whole in concert with managers of related functions and oversees continuous delivery of value - support and improvement upon existing processes and practices of the engineers and teams. The Software Engineering Manager supports technical decision-making by combining context from customer and business needs, system architecture concerns, IT operations and application security. The Manager also supports the recruiting team to find and hire incredible talent.

WHO YOU ARE

• BS / Master's in engineering, computer science or another related technical field
• You must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at InMoment. You will not be here just to tell other people what to do. Previous experience leading an engineering team.
• You must have 5+ years of web development experience-preference given to candidates who have experience with large applications of some scale.
• Experience managing a team of software engineers.
• You must have a solid grasp of 12 factor App architecture, automated software testing, databases, development, and testing methodologies.
• You must have experience developing a web framework.
• Track record of delivering successful products as an engineer and a team lead.
• Familiarity working with a cloud provider and in-house data centers
• Familiarity managing and developing highly-available and distributed software

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• You are 1 part mentor, 1 part architect and 1 part scrum master
• You work creatively to solve challenging problems
• You have a passion for solving complex problems & growing engineers' careers
• Strong understanding of OOP languages (Java, Python, etc.)
• Strong understanding of SPAs (React, Angular, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• You are pragmatic, results-focused, and capable of leading and inspiring diverse groups of engineers to accomplish complex projects.
• You have mastery of software development principles including SOLID, software design patterns and architectural design patterns.
• You are driven, self-motivated, and you love building and growing teams
• You are experienced with AWS
• You have a deep passion for best practices including CI/CD, TDD, clean code, etc
