Software Quality Engineer 1

Vermont Information Processing is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer 1 to join our automated testing team, a development group that builds, executes, and maintains Java-based automated testing tools. This position will test web services, stored procedures, web and mobile UIs, and other programs written in a variety of languages and running on a variety of platforms.

Position Type: Full Time, Hybrid - will be required to report to our office in Colchester, VT

Primary Responsibilities:

• Enhancing the quality of our software products through testing
• Contributing breadth and depth to our overall testing infrastructure
• Developing, publishing, and implementing test plans
• Writing and maintaining automated test suites

Requirements:

• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate status to complete complicated projects independently and on time
• At least 3 years experience in software testing
• At least 2 years experience in Java, C#, or C++, and SQL

Desired Skills:

• A working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
• Selenium or Appium
• JUnit or TestNG
• IBM iSeries, DB2, and RPG
• ExtJS / Sencha JavaScript frameworks
• SVN / Git / Source Control
• Linux / CentOS
