The Commercial Business Unit (CBU) team comprises the Mid-Market (MM) sales teams and is responsible for growing Yext’s revenues. With a focus on Fortune 50-500 brands across the United States and global chain businesses internationally, we work with brands across Automotive, Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Retail and more.
As a Solutions Engineer you are responsible for supporting the growth of our client base with a focus on clients and prospects across a defined North American territory. The Solutions Engineer is responsible for understanding our customers and prospects needs and developing the appropriate solution footprint and benefit assessment. This involves performing the vital needs assessment and analysis to clearly define the business objectives and capabilities, as well as the supporting case, and demonstrating how those requirements are supported using Yext solutions!
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Field Sales team during the sales process to assist in developing account/opportunity strategies, planning and execution. This includes net-new sales opportunities, account expansion and retention.
- Work closely with both Yext clients/prospects and/or Yext Partners to aid the positioning and scope of a solution.
- Build lasting, mutually beneficial relationships across enterprise accounts and strategic partners.
- Provide customer specific product demonstrations in support of requirements and cases. In addition, you will often craft, build and present “Art of the Possible” full-platform progressive demonstrations.
- Offer mentorship on technical aspects of Yext solutions as part of the sales process.
- Communicate the value of Yext solutions and position in the marketplace.
- Apply strong business insight, including standard methodologies and business processes, to understand and communicate business requirements and solutions strategy to customers and prospects.
- Help craft the evolution of our solutions by partnering with Customer Solutions Management, Product Management, Product Marketing and Development.
- Collaborate with Yext Enablement to help train Yext employees on new platform features and industry knowledge.
- Support Yext Marketing with various activities and attending both in-person and virtual events.
- Assist with the completion of technical responses to RFPs and RFIs.
What You Have
- BA/BS degree or similar college level education.
- Minimum 2 years of business experience as a Solutions Engineer within a SaaS business environment or equivalent proven experience.
- Superb communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on storytelling to craft and deliver compelling stories that showcase the value of Yext to our prospects.; must be dynamic in communicating ideas to clients and prospective clients from VP to C-level.
- Proven understanding of digital marketing/product experiences and respective industry knowledge. Specific experience in the following topics is an advantage:
- Database Architecture (inc. Graph Databases)
- Full-stack Web Development including Front-end Frameworks i.e. React
- Headless CMS / DXP platforms (Contentful, Sitecore, AEM etc)
- Search Engine Optimization
- Site Search technologies (Elastic, Algolia, etc)
- REST / GraphQL APIs
- Ability to develop business cases that communicate requirements and solutions strategy to enterprise level prospects and customers.
- Must work well in a team selling environment.
- Experience of working to a MEDDPIC Sales Process (or similar).
- Proven history of quota attainment or team goal attainment.
- Experience selling to and working with C-Level and top line management to understand business strategy and objectives.
- Must be willing to travel to various regions supported by Yext across North America.
- Strong enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and knowledge related to your role and industry.
- Ability to inspire and motivate team members by sharing insights and experiences from your own learning journey.
- A high level of independence and self-motivation in managing tasks and projects.
- Strong sense of accountability for your work and ownership of outcomes, whether individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with prospects and clients, effectively conveying key messages and value.

The base salary at the time of hire for this position is expected to be between $74,000-$162,000. Pay ranges at Yext are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at Yext are typically eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits, and successful candidates may also be eligible for equity (stock) based compensation and/or variable pay programs based on performance relative to goals and targets.
