The Air Flow Management Sourcing Leader is responsible for the development of the Category Management strategy and execution as well as supplier management strategies to position the division to achieve meaningful long-term material cost reduction and improve supply chain risk management.

The role is a combination of 50% strategy and 50% implementation activities and will impact $40-$50 million in annualized global spend. You will be the face of the AFM Division to the supplier base and this role will report to the Director of Operations and have a team of a Sourcing Supervisor plus 3 buyers. 

ITW Air Flow Management provides Pressure Relief Valves, Air Registers and Safety Components to Automotive OEM’s globally with products manufactured at locations in Reynosa, Mexico and Westminster, Massachusetts.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute the Global strategies with focus on risk management of 80 parts and aligned across AFM locations and ITW Enterprise.
  • Driving cost out of current spend through market benchmarking of parts, new suppliers and developing cost out opportunities through Value Engineering.
  • Working with and collaborating with Enterprise Sourcing
  • Keep updated on market indexes and trends, analyze supplier cost structure and competitive market analysis to minimize cost impact and mitigate risk.
  • Develop and execute robust supplier management program including managing contracts, performance, defining saving goals, risk management, driving efficiency and building positive relationships.
  • Communication and ensuring high quality expectations at suppliers, managing supplier quality and assisting in supplier audits.
  • Working closely with New Product Development (NPD) project teams and the Sourcing Innovation Manager with bringing new tool development to the market. Ensuring NPD decisions are in line with Category Strategy and there is strong alignment between NPD and the preferred supplier base.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, Finance and Engineering stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 8-10 years related experience. Plastics and or automotive or resins supply chain experience in a manufacturing or product development environment preferred
  • Proven experience in growing and developing a team
  • Proven ability in creating, leading and driving cross functional teams/projects with documented success in global sourcing
  • Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Domestic/Offshore travel as needed or required up to 30%
