Special Education Teacher

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with other educators and specialists to support the academic and social growth of students. Responsibilities • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. • Utilize learning technology and adaptive tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to monitor student progress and adjust educational strategies as needed. • Provide instruction in various subjects, including physical education, while incorporating behavioral health strategies. • Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student performance and growth. • Support students in developing social skills and coping mechanisms through structured activities. • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and communication with families. • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and active participation. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; certification in Special Education is preferred. • Experience working with students with special needs in a daycare or educational setting is highly desirable. • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes. • Familiarity with behavioral health principles and speech therapy techniques is a plus. • Experience in private school settings or teaching physical education is advantageous. • Proficiency in using learning technology to support diverse learners. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff. • A compassionate approach towards teaching that fosters a supportive learning environment for all students.
