Sr Engineer - Testing (NPD)

What you'll do:

• To own all low power test activities
• To own , maintain and upgrade the test lab facility to required standards
• Complete testing within specified time
• Prioritise and support test requests from all departments
• Release test reports within time and without error
• Independently conducts all low power testing's related to new product development, Certification Maintenance, Concessions and quality checks.
• Release error free test reports for all testing's conducted to the test requester
• Ensure the lab facility is maintained to required standards through regular maintenance & 5S
• Maintain spares as required avoiding downtime
• Create, maintain and update procedures, manuals, formats relating to testing & test equipments

• Ensures calibration of all testing equipment on defined frequency to ensure accuracy of instruments for best results.
• Support to New product development team as required
• Deliver projects as assigned
• Upgrade or add new test facility
• Ensures that all safety policies are followed to maintain a safe working environment in the test lab.
• Keep self updated on test standards
• Train new incumbents to the team on testing and Identify personal training needs to progress to next level.
• Reporting to the Manager - New Product Development Team
• The incumbent will involve in low power testing of various fuses based upon the standards available for fuses.
• Supports Engineers in prototype or final sample building.
• This position Involves physical activities like climbing ladder for connecting appropriate cables , lifting busbars , moving test rigs
• Frequent contact within NPD team and other teams like Quality, Maintanence.
• Occasional contact with test bench supplier & instrument supplier for service purpose.

Qualifications:

• BE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• 5 years in Testing or Maintenance or Quality of which atleast 2 years in testing

Skills:

• Industrial experience in low power testing and trials
• Knowledge on Fuses & testing of fuses , preferred
• Knowledge to read and understand International Product Standards like IEC/BS/UL/ASTA/BIS
• Good personal drive, initiative and positive attitude
• Good knowledge in MS-Office and computer
• Good communication Skill
• High level of attention to detail essential
• Highly ethical and able to work in cross functional team
