Sr. Art Director

Azra Games is looking for a Sr Art Director to drive the studio-wide visual development of multiple AAA open world action RPGs, beginning with Legions & Legends, an original IP built in the Unity Game engine. As the Sr Art Director, you will have overall accountability for defining the visual quality standards for the studio. Lead by example with contemporary thinking to challenge, inspire, excite and guide both internal art talent as well as third party relationships.

We are both gamers and crypto natives. Founded by virtuoso game designer Mark Otero, best known for Electronic Arts' top grossing Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, serial-preneur Sonny Mayugba (COO) and crypto degen Travis Boudreaux (CTO), Azra Games is backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and NFX.

Responsibilities

• Develop each game's art bible to be delivered in line with the vision and priorities.
• Using consumer data and insights, align your team to focus on what matters most, driving a visual roadmap that compliments the game design and IP.
• Understand business priorities and lobby for resources needed for strategic innovation. As part of the senior leadership team you will advocate for improvements and enhancements.
• Consult with brand and product owners to define strategic goals for the franchise's visuals.
• Seek out latest trends, best practices and competitor analysis and incorporate into thinking and development of art research strategies - including the proper use of generative A.I. art in concept and production pipelines.
• Lead an ever growing team of artists, inspiring and developing them to achieve their creative potential, building an inclusive culture where everyone contributes, feels welcomed and valued.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience within visual art game development within large complex environments.
• Having shipped multiple AAA games while leading teams and managing stakeholders and teams globally to deliver.
• Empowering leadership skills that enable you to challenge and influence.
• Proficient at presenting visual strategies to a range of stakeholders including executive management.
• Effective communicator, uniting team members from multiple teams, geographies and disciplines behind a common strategy.
• Passion for the RPG genre.
