THE OPPORTUNITY 

As a senior front-end engineer lead, you will work closely with product managers, front-end developers, back-end developers, and machine learning engineers to build our features. You will have room to shape your work by influencing the product we make, our daily engineering processes, and the tools we use to do our work. We promise that you will have an opportunity to have an outsized impact on our product.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • As a frontend engineer, you’ll be working with the product teams to develop the PoCs for the complex product use cases and ground-up refactoring.
  • Architect and develop enterprise-ready web applications  for delightful user interfaces with high code quality, reusability, and maintainability
  • Refactor existing code to improve our codebase and leave things better than how you found them
  • Be a great collaborator and an engineering leader by performing code reviews, mentoring other team members, and presenting your work to others.
  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to build and deliver a compelling end-user experience

COMING IN

  • 8+ years of front-end React development experience focused on SaaS applications and making them responsive, accessible, and scalable with the latest and greated React/Redux, TypeScript, CSS-in-JS, etc-  in a dynamic, content-rich, and consumer-facing application 
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, ARIA 1.1, and Javascript
  • Experience creating unit tests with Jest, and other testing library to write tests for enterprise applications
  • Experience with REST-based Web Services development
  • Experience and understanding working with the REST APIs and  backend frameworks - NestJs (preferred) and PHP. 
  • Strong computer science fundamentals proved by both education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of website optimization techniques such as CDN, Cloud, and web-caching techniques
  • A creative approach that challenges conventional thinking and attention to detail with an eye on pixel perfection when creating application features and widgets
  • Hands-on experience with server-side rendering with React/React Native, with a framework like NextJS. 

YOU’LL BE SUPER SKILLED AND EFFECTIVE AT

  • Experience in working and leading a high-performing engineering team building enterprise applications
  • Experience working with the latest React and its components, Redux, or similar state management framework
  • Experience working with the algorithm, computation workflows, and messaging
  • Experience with running POCs, and working with cross-functional teams for the productizations
  • You have a solid technical background in frontend architecture and micro-frontend design at a top-tier software company.
  • Experience working with containerized micro-frontend services. 
  • Optimizing the language (TypeScript/Javascript) performance of large-scale systems
  • You will demonstrate the ability to drive large business areas. 

WITHIN ONE MONTH YOU'LL

  • You will complete the product and engineering architecture walkthroughs.
  • You will understand the existing frontend architecture, CI/CD setup, our UI toolkit.
  • You will shadow the existing project with your peers to accelerate your learning and onboarding in WorkBoard.
  • You will work with the engineering squad to join the initiative on the quarterly priorities.

WITHIN THREE MONTHS YOU'LL

  • You will become one of the critical frontend members contributing to the frontend team.
  • You will institute engineering best practices to build the user interface and help the team identify the web application performance slowness and fix them.
  • You will participate in the PR reviews architecture discussions and form a stronger frontend foundation.

WITHIN SIX MONTHS YOU'LL

  • You will be the experts of the technologies/components and have the engineers in these areas as required. 
  • You will ship and maintain the great features/products 
  • You will work with the internal stakeholders to ideate on compelling UI/UX experiences and drive them with the team
  • You will help in hiring and conducting interviews for the team by hiring great people like yourself

THE TEAM

You will be working in the high-caliber team and key product area team -  focused on researching and developing applications, complex platforms, and systems. The team is also responsible for building the micro frontends, inter-web platform libraries, and platform navigation for WorkBoard’s applications.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 to $212,100 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and geographic location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
