Position Overview

• As a key member of the Strategy group, you will accelerate Baxter's growth by developing, analyzing and implementing strategies directly aligned with the goals of Baxter and its Global Business Units

Critical Responsibilities

• Leads the development and implementation of initiatives in support of corporate strategic objectives
• Defines and leads execution of the analytical and financial analytical framework resolve critical business issues. Performs thorough evaluations of business opportunities through analysis of potential business, inclusive of competitive analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, technology platforms, and strategic fit
• Facilitate cross-functional team collaborations as well as support executive leadership and stakeholders within the business in developing business strategies, inclusive of long-term goals and objectives
• In conjunction with finance, support the strategic planning process and acts as a trusted advisor to the business's executive leadership and relevant stakeholders during strategy formulation, development, and execution
• Work with business leadership, executives, senior business development management, and stakeholders across the business to ensure that the business's departmental strategies are aligned in order to advance the overall business strategy
• Develops and presents synthesized findings to Senior Executives

Critical Competencies

• Strong analytical/strategic thinking skills. Ability to lead and provide strategic input and communicate complex ideas and strategies to executives
• Strong financial modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills. Solid problem structuring and solving skills including quantitative and qualitative ideas and assumptions
• Knowledge of the healthcare business environment and understanding of the competitive landscape strongly recommended
• Solid strategic planning abilities and business acumen. Solid track record in leading projects to successful completion and leading experienced teams (internal and external resources)
• Strong ability to understand market trends, financial data, customer needs, and assess competitive intelligence data
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with a high degree of autonomy
• Team player who brings creativity to problem solving
• Self-starter and proactively thinks about opportunities to drive growth
• Is comfortable in ambiguous and rapidly evolving situations
• Can maintain perspective and focus on key priorities for the overall business

Experience / Education

• Requires 2-4 years of post MBA experience in strategy consulting or related fields, or 7-8 years of total work experience
• Master's degree in business or finance preferred
• Health-care/pharma industry/ medical device experience is a benefit
• Background in strategic planning, strategy formulation, and/or portfolio management a plus
• Mature, self-aware individual with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Has experience working with and presenting to senior leaders
• Strong finance and analytical skills
• Highly competent communicator, both orally and in writing
