Position Overview:
This position will be responsible for the design of industry-leading Automatic Transfer Switch components and assemblies. The Senior Product Engineer must be capable of providing a wide variety of engineering and technical tasks involving the application of electrical engineering knowledge and the development of solutions to complex problems pertaining to products, materials, manufacturing processes, tests, and unique customer applications.

In this function you will:
- Design support responsibility for ATS product line. Execute on design, development, and related technical tasks required to maintain the product line.
- Develop product designs which may require the implementation of unique solutions.
- Support and prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes while maintaining awareness and cost control. This may involve direct customer interface to establish requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, incorporating resources management and milestone deliverables in conjunction with Lead Engineer.
- Possess the appropriate project management skills to take the lead position on various development projects.
- Conduct appropriate testing and evaluation of products, parts, equipment, tools, and systems along with necessary corrective follow-up.
- Possess a working knowledge of all development/design related ISO procedures and work instructions.
- Capable of conducting and documenting team/supporting meetings and activities in the absence of their supervisor.
- Support plant quality initiatives.
- Support plant cost improvement objectives.
- Other duties, projects as assigned including MESH/Safety activities.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related design experience.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Arden, NC
Position Criteria:
- Must demonstrate proficiency in electrical schematic and logic design. Familiarity with PLC/ELC controls and communications protocols.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of the interaction between electrical switching systems, and surrounding systems such as the utility power grid, motors, and generators/backup systems.
- Able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in understanding the interaction of systems with mechanical, electrical, or electronic principles.
- Create, configure, and disseminate system requirements for designs internal and external.
- Experience with process improvements toolsets into a highly engineered environment (could include: Lean, Six Sigma, Root cause analysis, etc.).
- Demonstrate sound problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Possess the ability to analyze product failure issues sufficiently to drive them to root cause.
- Possess adequate project management skills to direct the activities for any PROLaunch projects from Runners to Aliens
