We’re seeking a Senior Accountant - Finance to join our team.

Proper is seeking a Senior Accountant with an Innovative mindset, the ability to build processes from scratch and enforce them, and skilled at cross-functional collaboration who is excited to be working in a fast-paced environment that’s continuously evolving.

Proper is a San Francisco-based tech startup. This full-time position would be based in Mexico or Colombia.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closings. 
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations. Lead the process for audits and regulatory filings. 
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Tax Preparation: Lead the preparation of Proper’s state and federal filings for compliance with Tax Laws.

Skills

• Hard/technical skills
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Familiarity with US Tax regulations
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong English speaking and writing abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP’s and CRM’s such as Quickbooks Online and Hubspot
