Opening Date: 07/28/2025 Closing Date: 08/04/2025 Job Grade: SAM 37 Salary Range: $63,700.00-$79,612.00 OVERALL DESCRIPTION Prepare account analyses and implement corrections where necessary. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, reports and journal entries. Perform accounting and financial reporting functions as assigned. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements for a division, as assigned. • Prepares account analyses ensuring recurring adjustments are eliminated through appropriate procedural changes. • Prepares and analyzes quarterly and annual PennDOT’s dotGrants Report for a division, as assigned. • Maintains accounting records and determine appropriate monthly entries for injuries and damages expense/liability, restricted funds, fuel expense and other accounts, as assigned. Corrects payroll and other suspense errors, as assigned. • Maintains accounting records for long-term debt including preparation of monthly journal entries, as assigned. • Assists in the preparation of the annual National Transit Database Report, as assigned. • Assists in the preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly financial reports and related disclosure, as assigned. • Maintains general ledger accounting records relating to operating subsidies and prepare monthly journal entries, as assigned. • Performs timely file maintenance relating to the general ledger chart of accounts, as assigned. • Assists in testing of new financial systems and system enhancements, as assigned. • Coordinates and monitors CD-ROM contract record retention services, as assigned. • Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others. • Performs other related duties, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, (or related field) and two (2) or more years’ experience in general accounting required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. • Strong work ethic and commitment to accomplishing assigned duties on time required. • Excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills required.Why Join Our Team?
