Staff Accountant

Duties • Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. • Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions. • Assist in financial management tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. • Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and procedures. • Engage in governmental accounting practices as required by specific projects or clients. • Apply accrual accounting principles to ensure proper revenue recognition and expense matching. Experience The successful candidate will possess: • Proven experience in general ledger reconciliation and account analysis. • Strong understanding of financial management and financial analysis techniques. • Familiarity with GAAP regulations and their application in accounting practices. • Experience with mentoring or training junior staff is preferred. • Experience in governmental accounting or accrual accounting will be considered an asset.
