Staff Accountant (Costing)

Staff Accountant - Cost Analysis Overview: Handi-Foil,the industry leader in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of disposable aluminum bakeware, has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at our corporate office in Wheeling, IL. This privately owned company has been in business for more than forty years and has experienced strong growth every year. Our company’s operations include multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities. TheStaff Accountant - Costing Analysiswill be a part of the team that is primarily responsible for preparing and maintaining Customer Cost and Benefit analysis. Assist with general ledger and month-end closings. Cost analysis will be a regular and primary responsibility for this position. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, have a solid understanding of accounting principles and possess strong Microsoft Excel skills. Key Responsibilities: • Conducting cost and pricing analysis and preparing management reports. • Review and analyze Bills of Materials and Routings. • Assist with maintaining Costing Templates. • Daily interaction with Sales and Marketing Teams on Price Quotes and RFPs. • Daily Reporting of Metal Market Price Analysis. • Assist in preparing journal entries for the month end close process. • Assist with regularly maintaining detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. • Other Projects and Duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Degree in Accounting from an accredited university • 2+ years of experience in Accounting field • Experience working in a manufacturing environment • Experience with Oracle or other major ERP system • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (use of v-lookup function, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) • Candidates must possess high ethical standards with strong communication skills • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data • Ability to work independently as well as within a team • Individuals must be detail oriented with good critical thinking skills and must be flexible to handle competing priorities accurately with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment. • Flexibility to work extended hours, as needed, to accommodate business demand We offer competitive compensation with a bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life and disability insurance and a 401k with company match. A reasonable estimate of the Hiring base salary range for this role starting at $75,000.
