The Subsystem Engineer in this position will apply critical thinking and problem solving methodologies to mechanical, materials, and electronics product requirements to ensure that Delta's products are designed and manufactured to provide an overall system that meets our customers' high expectations. You will work as part of a diverse team that is responsible for launching innovative products on time, within budget, and to the quality levels.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all Engineering aspects of new product development projects including requirements management, concept development, design risk assessment, design implementation, integration, and verification.
- Collaborate on a multi-functional team with Operations, Industrial Design, Product Marketing, Quality, and Program Management.
- Develop technical solutions roadmaps to support future product plans.
- Apply system engineering principles to product development processes.
- Build and maintain engineering documents such as the DVP&R, FMEA, and product specifications.
- Apply principles, processes and tools such as Systems Engineering, PDCA, six sigma, DVP&R, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP to facilitate knowledge development and decision making.
- Lead design reviews with peers and SMEs.
- Create prototype samples and collaborate with the Lab organization to develop and execute design verification tests
The Subsystem Engineer designs and develops products, including new platforms, from concept to introduction. Additionally, the Subsystem Engineer identifies and implements cost-reduction opportunities and executes product changes to meet regulatory requirements.
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
Travel:
Travel (both domestic and international) is required, although not occurring at this time. Estimated travel time during when applicable is 5 - 10% (will vary depending upon project).

Hiring Range: $52,200.00 - $82,060.00
Actual compensation may vary based on various factors including experience, education, geographic location, and/or skills.
