Tax Accountant

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax preparation and business accounting. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support our clients' needs. We consider this job to be a Full Time / Part Time commitment. During the tax season, approximately Feb 1 - April 15, hours are full time with some overtime depending on the workload. Off season schedule is determined by the Extension clients timing, the Tax Planning work, and other projects that arise. This is an in-office position. Responsibilities • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and legislation • Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation Experience Candidates should have a solid foundation in accounting principles with experience in the following areas: • 3 to 5 years experience in a busy Tax office environment preparing individual and business tax returns • Must hold a current License as an EA or CPA • Knowledge and experience using the QuickBooks Desktop and Online accounting software platforms. • Strong interpersonal skills, including proven experience working directly with clients • Strong analytical skills for account reconciliation and financial analysis • Experience in non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required • Excellent oral and written communication The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
