Tax Assistant/Coordinator – CPA Firm San Jose, CA | Full-Time About Us: Weber and Company, Inc. is a dynamic and growing CPA firm based in San Jose, CA. We specialize in delivering high-quality tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, businesses, and trusts. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Tax Assistant/Coordinator to oversee and optimize our tax engagement and project operations. Position Summary: As a Tax Assistant/Coordinator, you will serve as the project hub, assuring the scope of the project, the timing, the critical paths and control points are adhered to. You will be responsible for driving projects from initiation to completion and collaborate closely with the administrative and operations team to support and ensure seamless workflow. Thus, ensuring quality deliverables, and enhancing communication across departments and with clients. Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution and Monitoring · Delegate or re-assign projects to team members to meet deadlines. · Monitor timelines, budgets, and performance metrics. · Identify risks or bottlenecks and proactively implement mitigation strategies. · Address and resolve engagement-related issues swiftly. · Respond promptly to client project status and inquiries. · Communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders including partners, managers, and clients. · Submit projects to clients for review and follow-up. Compliance and Quality Assurance · Ensure adherence to documentation, workbooks and tax compliance standards. · Confirm return diagnostics are cleared, assist with e-file rejections. · Government notice monitoring. · Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of service and deliverables. Process Improvement and Technology · Implement process enhancements using best practices and technology. · Use project management and tax software to improve workflow, tracking, and team collaboration. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Business, etc. preferred). · 2–3 years of experience in project or program scheduling within accounting, finance, or tax preferred. · Strong understanding of tax engagement cycles and compliance requirements. · Proficient in project management tools and platforms. · Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. · Ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. · PMP Certification is a plus.
