Come join us! We are seeking a strategic communications professional to join its Corporate Affairs team as Team Lead for Canada. Based in Toronto this dynamic role focuses on strengthening IBM’s reputation employee engagement and market awareness through the execution of impactful internal executive and external communications strategies.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and implement a holistic communications plan with colleagues to support business objectives.
- Guide a diverse team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality results.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including business leadership sales and marketing to align communications efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on brand stewardship and issues management to enhance IBM’s reputation and business outcomes.
- Help ensure consistency of messaging across internal and external audiences.
- The chosen candidate will operate in a flexible and thriving in-office environment working collaboratively with the Canadian marketing communications and Citizenship teams.
Core Responsibilities include:
- As the successful candidate you will serve as Team Lead for IBM Canada Communications. You will collaborate with a diverse team of communications professionals in Canada and across the Americas to develop and drive a focused and integrated communications plan that advances IBM’s AI Hybrid Cloud and Quantum leadership within the country and informs and engages IBMers.
- Develop deep knowledge of IBM Canada’s business tech and consulting portfolio to align communications with market strategy.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear engaging content.
- Handle multiple competing priorities with agility and precision
The role requires:
- Fluent English and preferred French.
- Strong written/verbal communication and ability to simplify complex concepts across channels .
- Effective project management—fast accurate and deadline-driven.
- Knowledge of the tech industry and Canadian media landscape (government and financial sectors).
- Creativity curiosity and AI literacy including prompting skills.
- Deep expertise in external/executive communications or media relations.
- Proven ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments and collaborate globally.
- Creative problem-solver with a positive can-do attitude and resilience to innovate and adapt.
- Familiarity with tools like Brandwatch Cision AirTable Marketo and communications measurement methods.
