Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with your co-teacher team to plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
2. Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can grow and thrive.
3. Provide a balance of child-initiated and teacher-guided experiences using hands-on learning opportunities.
4. Support social, emotional, and cognitive development through active engagement, positive guidance, and problem-solving techniques.
5. Encourage self-expression and creativity through diverse activities such as art, music, and outdoor play.
6. Communicate with children at their developmental level, answering questions and guiding their exploration.
7. Lead small group activities and adapt experiences to meet the individual needs of all children, including those with special needs.
8. Maintain classroom routines for smooth transitions and a consistent learning environment.
9. Document student progress through portfolios, wall displays, and other means.
10. Establish and maintain open, collaborative communication with parents and the teaching team.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 12 ECE units (preferred): ECE Child, Growth & Development; ECE Child, Family, Community; ECE Curriculum; and an ECE Practicum. ECE Infant/Toddler Development is a plus.
2. 1+ year of experience in Early Childhood Education and infants, toddler, or preschool students (preferred)
3. Knowledge of child development and emergent curriculum
4. Commitment to ICRI’s mission and values
5. Positive attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for education
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. US work authorization and excellent references
8. TB clearance and background check submission
9. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
10. Being available to work from 9:30am-6:30pm (preferred)
