You must be a full-time student at an accredited university in Hungary at the time of your internship that will start in January 2026 and end at the end of 2026.
As a UX design intern you’ll be an essential member of a product design squad (a team of 3-5 designers) working together to create human-centered experiences by designing the structural and informational foundation for IBM Cloud products services and systems.
In this role you’ll join IBM Studios Budapest a local team of 30 designers and researchers committed to helping each other do great work. Our teams work in a hybrid environment that is some office time is expected to foster collaboration build relationships and provide learning and mentoring opportunities.
* Work with UX researchers to test concepts with users and integrate findings into the design direction through low and high-fidelity mockups patterns prototypes and development-ready specifications
* Work with your team to design information architecture interactions content and navigation throughout the product experience leveraging IBM's well-established design systems to create consistent and delightful client experiences
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders including product management engineering sales marketing to craft UX solutions that aligns with business objectives and user needs
* Participate with your team in agile and design thinking methodologies
* Participate in UX reviews critiques and guilds to help develop more effective and rich designs in our community
* As a UX intern you might expect your week to look something like this: 40% hands-on product design 40% team collaboration and coordination 20% personal training and learning
* A portfolio of work samples that demonstrate an understanding of user-centered design interaction design visualizations of complex experiences and demonstration of delivering exceptional user-centered outcomes
* Familiarity of design and prototyping tools such as Figma
* Strategic thinking with ability to align design goals with business goals
* A drive to embrace technical domains and explain the problem space
* Solid understanding of fundamental design principles (typography layout grid systems hierarchy color composition)
* Excellent communication and storytelling skills in English
* Ability to work from the office in Budapest 2-3 days per week
* Awareness of inclusive design practices and accessibility standards
* Bachelor’s Degree in computer science Software Development or a related field
* Familiarity with design systems agile practices design thinking and human-centered design principles
