Job Description

You will be the responsible for carrying out:

• Vehicle dynamics advanced simulation activities to support attributes development programs.
• Tyre virtual model generation and integration in the virtual chassis.
• Perform complete vehicle and suspension simulations to provide direction to the chassis development programs, while minimizing the need for physical testing.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

• Build chassis and complete vehicle models
• Perform virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics & compliance and complete vehicle handling & ride comfort.
• Optimise chassis parameters in order to meet performance targets
• Define the tyre testing program for tyre modelling purposes
• Generate parametric and physical tyre models
• Support the virtual implementation of the physical tyre models in the full vehicle simulation (either in computer simulation or in driving simulators)
• Prepare/write project reports
• Presentation of project results and support decision making

To support project management and commercial actions:

• Presentation of project proposals and project results to customers
• Management of client communication and reporting

Qualifications

Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in automotive chassis development with a focus on Vehicle Dynamics.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from individual components— hardpoints, steering, springs, bars, dampers, tires, bushings, etc.—to suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance.
• Basic understanding of the performance development process, from target setting and target cascading to validation and sign-off.
• Vehicle dynamics simulation experience with multi-body (ADAMS) and/or lookup tables-based models (VI-CarRealTime, IPG CarMaker, CarSim, etc)
• Data post-processing skills.
• Basic knowledge of programming with Matlab and/or Python.
• Detail-oriented and organised personality
• Great communication and team-working skills
• Hard-working and flexible mindset

Education

B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Languages

Fluent in English and Spanish.
