Job Description

The Vice President & Director of Property Management Marketing reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer of The Inland Real Estate Group, LLC and leads marketing and development activities for the Group’s property management companies across both residential (≈ 70 percent) and retail/commercial (≈ 30 percent) portfolios. This person manages and grows a team of direct reports dedicated to property management marketing, fully leveraging Inland’s shared services resources, and engage outside agency partners when warranted. They will work closely with senior leadership in each property management company to support day to day strategic initiatives, establish KPIs, allocate resources and capacity, and craft marketing and development plans that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine deep residential and retail property management experience with data driven marketing acumen and a collaborative leadership style. Key Responsibilities Marketing & Branding • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to maintain and enhance brand awareness and drive tenant retention and acquisition. • Implement data driven marketing campaigns tailored to residential and retail audiences. • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to refine marketing efforts. • Develop partnerships with industry stakeholders, local communities, and corporate entities to expand brand visibility. • Utilize Yardi RentCafe, Property Capsule, Google Ads, Facebook Ad Manager, and ILS services such as Apartments.com, Zillow, and others to optimize performance and visibility. • Evaluate and refine SEO and paid media strategies using Google Analytics and platform data. • Coordinate property listing strategy and merchandising through Property Capsule and other visual asset platforms. • Monitor and manage online reputation management (ORM) at the property level to protect brand integrity and ensure timely tenant engagement. • Business Development & Leasing Support • Partner with the property management leadership team to develop, market, and support third party management strategies; serve as the marketing subject matter expert during pitch presentations and oversee the creation of compelling RFP responses for new third party property management opportunities. • Collaborate with property management leadership to develop repositioning strategies that maximize revenue, enhance tenant experience, and strengthen competitive positioning. • Leverage market research and financial analysis to guide data driven decision making and growth strategies.Tenant & Community Engagement • Implement tenant engagement programs that enhance the residential living experience and drive foot traffic to retail properties. • Develop community outreach initiatives, loyalty programs, and events that build long term tenant relationships. • Work closely with property management teams to ensure marketing efforts align with tenant needs and operational goals. • Oversee the marketing and training support desk, collaborating with internal partners to deliver effective marketing and sales training at the property level for both residential and commercial teams. • Team Leadership & Development • Manage and grow an existing team of direct reports responsible for property management marketing support, providing clear direction, professional development, and performance oversight. • Collaborate with operations, leasing, finance, and other stakeholders to align marketing and development strategies with corporate objectives. • Present marketing performance reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Real Estate, or a related field; MBA preferred. • 10+ years of progressive marketing or business development experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within residential and retail/commercial property management. • Strong expertise in both residential and commercial retail property management marketing, with a strategic understanding of tenant engagement. Third party property management marketing experience is a plus. • Experience with key PropTech platforms is required—including Yardi RentCafe, Property Capsule, and major ILS services such as Apartments.com, Zillow, etc. • Relevant digital marketing certifications (Google Ads, HubSpot, Meta, etc.) are also a plus. • Proficiency with CRM/CMS and marketing automation tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, WordPress, etc.). • Demonstrated success creating and executing branding, digital marketing, and lead generation strategies that drive measurable results. • Experience collaborating with leasing and property management teams to optimize occupancy and revenue. • Exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, and presentation skills; comfortable acting as a marketing SME in high stakes client meetings. • Ability to travel as required to support property teams and key business initiatives.Why Join Us? This position is eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program.
