Starting Pay*:$29.20/hr – $32.63/hr (WG-08 to WG-11) Type:Full Time. This is a non-supervisory position. Location:Naval Foundry and Propeller Center, Philadelphia Naval Business Center, Philadelphia, PA About NFPC The Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) is a modern manufacturing facility that occupies a 17-acre site at the Philadelphia Navy Yard with more than 750,000 square feet of industrial and administrative floor space. NFPC employs a highly skilled and versatile workforce of engineers, trades people and support personnel who specialize in advanced engineering, castings, and precision machining. Job Description Responsibilities/Knowledge include but are not limited to: • Prepares component or area for welding. includes cleaning, layout, and setup. • Welds using SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW. Welds can be inspected per VT and PT. • Operates arc welding equipment, oxyfuel cutting torch or other cutting methods to ensure alignment or fit. • Understand safety precautions associated with welding. • Reads and interprets welding symbols from blueprints, specifications, and sketches. • Sets up machines and equipment.
