Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Purpose: The Welder II has general responsibilities to fabricate and join sheet metal components to assemble structural forms of military components. Job Duties: • Use variety of gas, arc, or other welding equipment to permanently join metals to meet blueprint and planning requirements. • Ability to be certified to various welding standards and specifications. • Cleans parts as required to remove FOD. • Performs highly repetitive type of welding and tacking operations. • Uses a variety of measuring instrucments to check parts for conformance to tolerance as require. • Responsible for the quality of the products and in reporting required Quality data. • Performs routine daily maintenance of equipment and housekeeping duties. • Replenish weld consumables. Job Requirements: • High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate is preferred. • Minimum of 5 years of welding experience. • AWS or other related weld certificate is highly preferred. • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. • Basic computer skills preferred. • Familiarity with Military – Defense industry and corresponding standards is preferred. • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. This position must meet export control compliance requirements.
