z/OS Mainframe Specialist/SME

TriTech Enterprise Systems is seeking a 'z/OS Mainframe Specialist/SME' to support a Federal client. This candidate will provide high level functional and IT analysis, design, development, integration, documentation, and implementation assistance on problems which require a thorough knowledge of the related technical subject matter for effective system deployment:

• Participates in all phases of systems development
• Applies principals and methods of the functional area to difficult problems in technical areas to arrive at automated solutions
• Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results
• Prepares and delivers presentations and briefings as required by the task order
• Collect and record Portfolio of Applications’ encryption related information for Tier 1 IBM Mainframe systems
• Identify and engage key stakeholders to obtain and record about IRS portfolio of Applications’ following information but not limited to
  • Encryption related Functional Requirements
  • Encryption related Non-Functional Requirements (ex. Cyber, Performance – SLA)
  • Completion status
• Develop, record, and get alignment with stakeholders for encryption and integration implementation plan to include but not limited to Scope, level of effort, success criteria and duration/ high level Timeline
• Identify, integrate, and manage dependencies and constraints arising from the intersection of functional and non-functional requirements where non-functional requirements are those that specify solution quality and assurance attributes including security, privacy, availability, reliability, and performance
• Perform technical integration implementation and support across multiple internal and external projects for testing and deployment cross the environment
• Provide strategy and technical support for the application and integration of tools needed for program execution including tools for program management, development, and automation

Required skills/Level of Experience:

• 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience with IBM Mainframes and z/OS security
• 2+ years of Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) experience
• Proven experience successfully designing, developing, and deploying automation solutions for technical and engineering processes
• Demonstrated experience implementing automation solutions in the mainframe environment
• Proven experience about the components of Pervasive Encryption on z/OS, and end tend flow of implementing such encryption, and encrypting of various data sets (VSAM, IMS, DB2, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience on RACF, ICSF, CryptExpress 6/7/8s, TKE appliance, EKMF/EKMF Web, Liberty Server, zDMF
• 3+ years of experience on z/OS data set encryption and associated key management (master and operational keys)
• 3+ years of experience on data migration in z/OS using zDMF or other tools
• Automation of manual processes such as key label creation, RACF permissions on keys, setting access to DFS segments, migration to extended format and data set encryption/migration concepts, use of zDMF tool

Nice to have skills:

• 2+ years of experience in programming or scripting languages like REXX, COBOL, JCL, etc.
• Experience with storage level (disk and tapes) encryption or protection
• Experience with data at rest encryption and its implementation in z/OS
• Experience with zLinux and capabilities of Pervasive Encryption
• Experience mentoring/guiding less experienced staff
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced critical thinking, problem solving and technical troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to identify and assess issues then make sound decisions
• Security certifications such as CISSP
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Vanguard and Splunk
• Ability to coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames
• Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
