This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Learn more about this agency Duties Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses. Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods. Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan. Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans. Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children. Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis. Provide emergency on-call crisis management services for behavioral health cases and all other social work needs as designated by the section or department needs. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis. This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) conducting bio-psychosocial for patients needing behavioral health services; (2) providing individual therapy when indicated and formulating behavioral health interventions; and (3) safe discharge plans for highly complex medicine patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). AND Selective Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
