Summary
About the Position: This position is located within an outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Tennessee.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties
Assesses and diagnoses acute mental health conditions of patients presenting to the clinic or Military Treatment Facility.
Provides individual and/or group therapy using a variety of evidence-based modalities.
Evaluates treatment effectiveness using objectives and measurable outcomes and makes appropriate adjustments for increased compliance and efficacy.
Maintains concise documentation of care and recommendations in patient’s medical record.
Provides emergency behavioral health services on a scheduled, rotating and on-call basis to patients during normal duty hours to include screening patients for appropriateness of psychiatric hospitalizations.
Maintains full professional responsibility and individual accountability for professional decisions and actions (e.g., diagnoses, treatment recommendations and implementation).

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
Lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.
This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health):
Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes conducting mental health assessments, developing and monitoring mental health treatment plans, and providing individual and group therapy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
License:A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently from a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
