Description Specialization:Cardiothoracic SurgeryJob Summary:HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is
seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join Florida Heart and Lung Institute and
their growing cardiac surgery team in the CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit).Qualified
Candidates:
Work with an experienced team of 15 providers – 3 cardiothoracic surgeons and 12
APPsUnder the supervision of the cardiothoracic surgeons, the incoming APP will care for patients in
the CVICU ranging from CABG and valve replacement / repairs including TAVR to ECMO and aortic
aneurysm repairs.Perform bedside procedures within scope of service, write progress notes,
participate in daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes and participate in hospital wide
quality improvement initiatives.Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and ensure
continuity of care12 hour shifts;Â 14Â shifts per monthNew grads welcomeIdeal candidate would have
previous experience with managing cardiothoracic surgery or cardiac patients, ICU experience and
working experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistantNurse practitioners must be
certified in acute careÂ
