Summary
This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1202000and is part of the CSMS located in Draper UT, with the Utah Army National Guard.
IAW UTNGR 690-12 dated AUG 2022, Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTARNG.

Duties
Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list
As a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), WG-2602-12, you will:
Serves as a Small Shop Chief performing all of the following tasks:
Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s).
Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.
Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished.
Estimates manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
Devises and maintains program plans and records, is skilled in surveillance and troubleshooting techniques, and is able to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed without benefit of technical supervisory guidance.
Plans, organizes, and directs shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision.
Determines approaches, methods, and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
May provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, leave, etc.
Performs the same type and level of work as performed within the unit.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Rank: Enlisted or Warrant Officer
National Guard Membership is required.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Pending analysis, you may be required to complete a new 1-year probationary period when moved to this position IAW CNGBI 1400.25.
For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).
Potential for Incentive Pay.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which demonstrates a working knowledge of electronic principles involved in the generation and measurement of such elements as voltage, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance. Experience in the use of various precision measurement instruments and standards.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Have experience with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods. Experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing. Originates test set-ups to isolate malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups. Experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials. Experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards. Experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
