Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the NAF Resources Management (NAF Accounting Office), on Travis Air Force Base, CA. Eligible to use base facilities such as: Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center. Learn more about this agency Duties Performs as the Central Cashier for the MWR Fund, Lodging Fund and Fisher House. Applies official regulations to cash management and accountability. Prepares and issues change for funds as required. Prepares bank deposits and ensures daily deposit is made in a timely manner. Ensures that all monies are accounted for by balancing with the posting of funds placed in the activity's safe before actual bank deposit. Performs reconciliation, balancing, and auditing of receipts for a moderate number of categories on a simultaneous basis. Uses double-entry bookkeeping techniques to ensure proper cash management accountability. Troubleshoots routine actions by verifying audit trails and correcting errors. Searches for substantive solutions and recognizes unique and unusual trends or other problems in cash management. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Responsible experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody or other processing of cash items when this includes (I) direct handling of cash items and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Proficient computer skills using Windows and Microsoft Office or other widely used word processing and spreadsheet software. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
