Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
You will participate in the development and execution of operations.
You will support the specification of requirements, the development of systems or software, the transition of the systems or software to operations, and other operations.
You will utilize his or her expertise to participate as an effective member of the USNO team.
You will process and analyze data in support of the mission.
You will participate in a wide variety of communication.
You will be writing and presenting scientific and technical material to audiences ranging from USNO staff to governmental or international experts.
You will be creating standard operating procedures.
You will be documenting software and documenting the requirements and design review of projects.
You will research in fields related to USNO mission.
You will perform a wide variety of research with the goal of contributing toward DoD related problems of current interest.

Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with clock and timing systems.
Extensive experience with data and mathematical analysis.
Extensive modeling and simulation experience.
Excellent oral and written communication.
GS-13
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience and knowledge of mathematical concepts, theories, principles, and practices applicable to the design construction, analysis, and maintenance of precise time and time interval systems.
Extensive experience with clock and timing systems.
Extensive experience with data and mathematical analysis.
Extensive modeling and simulation experience.
Excellent oral and written communication with internal senior leadership.
Experience with applied research, through development and testing, to operations.
Experience in the processing of (defined as the application of algorithms to improve the quality of, or extract relevant parameters from, raw data) and analysis of (defined as the application of algorithms in order to extract relevant information from processed data) data in support of the mission area.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must posses:
The basic education requirement for the GS-1520, Professional Mathematics
Have successfully completed a degree in mathematics or the equivalent of a major that included at least 24 semester hours in mathematics.
or
Have a combination of education and experience demonstrated by courses equivalent to a major in mathematics (including at least 24 semester hours in mathematics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
