This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Learn more about this agency Duties Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses. Provide individual and group therapy using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy. Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients using interview, case history, observation techniques, and assessment methods and reviews notes and information collected to identify problems and concerns. Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis, identified problems, and treatment needs for each case. Provide on-going consultation services for a sub-set of patients who require on-going monitoring and follow-up (i.e., continuity consultations) with providers where appropriate. Evaluate treatment effectiveness using objectives and measurable outcomes to make adjustments if appropriate for increased compliance and efficacy. Work closely with multi-disciplinary treatment staff to synchronize efforts across the continuum of care. Provide targeted assessment and evaluation which includes diagnostic impressions and functional status focused on the presenting problem. Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series (Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, etc.) This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination or must provide a recognized exemption. This position requires that applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. This position may be designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical): Education: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application package.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations for behavioral health patients, offering individual or group clinical counseling, and creating behavioral health treatment recommendations or plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
