THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) (MI 127 MOF), Position Description Number NGD2504000 and is part of the MI 127 Wing, Michigan Air National Guard.

Duties
***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP***
This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Airlift Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Operations Flight, and serves as a consultant to the Maintenance Group Commander / Director of Maintenance.
Develops, interprets, and provides program guidance to the Wing regarding maintenance policies, procedures, budget, training criteria, and manpower/personnel. Interprets command aircraft assignment configuration and reporting policy and informs appropriate Wing personnel of requirements and provides sufficient follow-up to ensure compliance.
Provides oversight to the budget process, including planning, programming, budgeting, allocation, and funds execution. Develops recommendations for budgetary actions for specific functions while also evaluating trends and operating costs used to project future commitments and obligations.
Leads aircraft maintenance support for operational, exercise, or contingency operations. Interprets operational, exercise, and contingency requirements and implements actions to assist Wing execution. Reviews assigned plans to extract command taskings and assess maintenance capability in assigned areas to support plans.
Evaluates leads and controls the Group and subordinate unit training program to ensure combat readiness for unit members and tracks progress via automated training records system and other tools. Coordinates actions with UTMs, supervisors, and higher headquarters training functions at the Wing, NAF, and MAJCOM level, as appropriate. Advises the Group Commander on the execution of unit training and advises UTMs, supervisors or managers within units when actions may affect productivity or mission.
Directs aircraft maintenance analysis activities for the Maintenance Group. Reviews and interprets aircraft maintenance analysis information to implement programs that positively affect the future health of the aircraft fleet.
Represents the Maintenance Operations branch, participating in discussions, meetings, and/or serving on panels or committees concerning maintenance policies and procedures. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships within the wing, local organizations, other units, NGB and Major Commands.
Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Coordinates plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan Air National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the Michigan Air National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a trial period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Must have a valid civilian driver's license.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance designated at the State through the use of the Position Designation Tool.
Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; over/comp time may be required.
May require travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, and an appropriate valid driver’s license is mandatory.
This is a National Guard dual status technician position which requires military membership.

MILITARY GRADE: E8 (Promotable) - E9
Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position to ensure to avoid grade inversion, as determined by the Human Resources Office (HRO). Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (Grade Inversion). Enlisted members currently at a higher grade than allowed by the position (see Military Grade Requirement above) may apply; however, they must administratively reduce prior to appointment and provide confirmation of the reduction to HRO.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
experience, education or training in computations of cost data on labor and materials, buying materials or reviewing data with respect to man-hours, machine time, materials consumed, etc. Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.
AND
Experience in managing the function of work to be performed. Experience that includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
