Located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Alternate Payment Division. As a Financial Program Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting a Program Manager by working on systems development and enhancements and helping manage all day-to-day operational functions required of the US Debit Card Program with Digital Pay. Learn more about this agency Duties As a Financial Program Specialist, you will: Assist digital payment management program areas to build, maintain, enhance and operate payment systems, services and programs. Work with Federal agency customers, both internal and external, to establish and improve working relationships and provide guidance, resolve problems, and perform duties associated with a central service provider. Prepare data analysis (e.g., statistical summaries, comparisons, identification of trends and patterns, documenting process flows, etc.) and presentations for meetings and briefings that effectively and accurately display program information to individuals or groups. Perform process improvement evaluations of financial programs, processes, and systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, identify root cause issues, and provide recommendations for remedies/improvements in policies, procedures, customer service, and program management. Requirements Conditions of employment All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as making recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of financial programs and operations. Examples of this experience could include: - Utilizing various analytical techniques to determine strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements in operations related to financial systems, OR - Supporting a Program Manager by working on financial system's development or enhancements OR - Assisting with process improvement evaluations of financial programs, processes, or systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, and program management OR - Providing analysis and advice pertaining to financial systems that require communication and presentation skills to a team or management Education No education requirement.
