Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI), Data Analytics and Systems Group (DASG). As a IT Specialist (Systems Analysis), GS-2210-13, you will design, develop, and implement new and modernized information technology (IT) systems to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid. Learn more about this agency Duties Analyzes IT needs and requirements, including data access and security, to design systems and recommend appropriate information security controls or application development approaches. Plans and coordinates system designs and development activities for an IT platforms and data access methodologies, including providing guidance to staff or contract personnel. Develops proposals to translate management objectives into IT application systems and reviews short- and long-range projects to improve the effectiveness of existing operational systems. Presents project status and technical information to stakeholders and prepares project documentation such as project plans, schedules, or statements of work. In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Managing IT projects through the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliver IT products, services, or systems; AND Implementing IT modernization enhancements by applying IT principles, methods, and practices across system analysis, design, development, or testing; AND Conducting studies (such as feasibility analyses, cost analyses, or risk assessments) to develop recommendations on IT system improvements or process changes for management; AND Monitoring staff and contractor compliance with IT project plans, policies, or procedures.
