Summary
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity, Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for performing Information Assurance (IA) computer-related duties and administration associated with the DMDC central local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructures including ensuring the efficient integration between systems as well as compatibility of related applications and systems.

Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021.
As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Responsible for ensuring comprehensive compliance with all directives from DCDC, USCC, and other agencies. This involves attending order and compliance meetings, managing the entire lifecycle of external orders from review to execution, and regularly reporting on compliance status to management.
The position oversees all external cyber-related audit activities and maintains the DHRA Field Activity's Cybersecurity Posture Brief and the DCDC-DOWIN Scorecard.
A key function is managing the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) process by distributing DISA notices, collecting compliance reports and POA&Ms, and ensuring appropriate handling of Vulnerability Disclosures (VDP). Furthermore, the role involves overseeing contractor staff, acting as the primary escalation point between them and stakeholders, managing data collection for MADSS, coordinating CSSP engagements, and ensuring the accuracy of DoD PPSM and Whitelisting submissions. To ensure continuous improvement, the individual will also create and annually update all related policies and procedures.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS 13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Oversee Information Assurance (IA) duties that ensures the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information cybersecurity programs, policies, procedures and tools.
Manage security reviews of application designs, software development, source code and deployments; conduct systems security evaluations, audits and reviews.
Managing a small team performing Cybersecurity functions, providing advice, counsel, and instructions of both technical and administrative matters to the defense of the Department of War Information Network (DOWIN).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Requirements for the 2210 series as listed below: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
