Learn more about this agency Duties The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for an Infrastructure Resilience Engineer to support CFC/S4N (NH-0801-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent). Headquarters United States Space Force Combat Forces Command (CFC) in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a qualified Infrastructure Resilience Engineer for the Infrastructure and Integration Division. In this position you will serve as an Infrastructure Resilience Engineer for the Combat Forces Command Infrastructure and Integration Division (CFC/S4N). You will conduct engineering assessments of weapon systems infrastructure to improve the resilience of critical electrical and mechanical systems and provide subject matter expertise to headquarters staff and operational units while solving complex engineering and logistics challenges to ensure weapon system readiness. Position Responsibilities: - Leads infrastructure resiliency assessments to identify deficiencies, assess risk to mission and deliver recommendations that improve mission readiness. - Provides Command-level technical oversight for weapon systems infrastructure, validating engineering solutions and aligning investments with organizational strategy. - Delivers authoritative engineering guidance on CFC infrastructure resiliency requirements to diverse stakeholders, including joint service partners, allied nations, acquisition agencies, and industry professionals. - Articulates technical analysis in strategic terms, enabling senior leaders to make informed resource choices and effectively advocate for mission requirements across the Space Force and Department of War. Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services. 9. Knowledge of the principles of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs. 10. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems. Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a U.S Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance. Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”. This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first. Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments. PCS / relocation funding is authorized. This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 50 days a year.
