Duties
Supports the development and maintenance of learning materials and resources for interns and early-career staff. Assists with planning and coordinating workshops, orientations, and other learning activities, including scheduling, logistics, materials, and follow-up communication. Serves as a point of contact for program participants and stakeholders, responding to inquiries and sharing relevant resources. Maintains program records, processes documentation, and prepares basic reports to support efficient operations. Collects participant feedback and engagement data to help identify opportunities for program improvement. Provides general administrative and operational support for Training and Development initiatives as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Work ExperienceAt least 2 years administrative, operations, or managing internship programs.Required Special Skills/ KnowledgeAs part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Strong understanding of Senate operations, the structure of Senate offices, committees, and internships, and the traditional roles & responsibilities of interns and junior staff positions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and staff at all levels within the Senate community. Understanding of institutional norms, professional standards, and workplace expectations in a high-stakes, high-visibility and high-pressure legislative environment.Desired Qualifications One to two years of professional experience providing administrative, programmatic, or operational support; experience in a Senate office as an internship coordinator strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, manage logistics, and support multiple initiatives simultaneously with strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, practical resource materials.Demonstrated interest in supporting and developing learning programs that strengthen staff performance and professional growth, with a desire to understand how Senate offices and committees operate to best support interns and early-career staff.Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information.Working ConditionsSince this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted.Must be able to remain in a stationary position to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to confer with customers and staff. Frequently moves boxes/ equipment weighing less than 50 pounds for various needs.
Education
High School Diploma/GED.
