Summary This vacancy is for a Office Automation Technician position in the Department of Commerce, Denver Regional Office located in Denver, Colorado. Duties Provide technical support and assistance for all laptop automation activities in the regional office and ensures that proper software has been installed and ready for shipment to the field representatives. Develop methods for automating administrative and program reports from electronic systems (i.e., Internet, CD-ROM, Microfiche, databases, electronic bulletin boards.) Operate and maintain computer hardware, software, electronic mail, and telecommunications in order to support office automation activities Requirements Conditions of employment Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. This position may be covered by one or more of the following bargaining units: American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2782 (HQ), AFGE Local 1438 (DNRO). With a Mixed Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full-time, part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement. Qualifications This announcement will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on 03/25/2026 or on the date the first 50 applicants are received, whichever comes first. To qualify for the position of Office Automation Technician, at GS-0326-7, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Specialized Experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes providing technical support for laptop computers; installing hardware/software packages; troubleshooting problems, developing and preparing program reports; maintaining electronic mail and telecommunications in order to support office automation activities. Education: Education cannot be substituted at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
